NAVTEQ, the world’s largest company in production and distribution of digital maps for vehicle navigation, has assigned GEOMATICS, to produce digital data for Greece, in order to start up distribution of navigable data through the country’s automobile sales network. Developing digital maps according to NAVTEQ ’s data model, is an especially complicated project, given the strict requirements related to geometry, accuracy and geocoding. NAVTEQ, well known for the high level of technical specifications that it applies on developing data for automobile navigation, has chosen GEOMATICS to be its associate on this project of developing digital maps in Greece. We have already completed the whole of Attica Prefecture and Thesaloniki Residential Complex, which will soon be at the disposal of all drivers seeking for an effective, functional and accurate navigation system for their automobile.
